Welcoming the 2021 Season at Piney River Ranch!
If you’ve been itching to make the journey to Piney River Ranch, you won’t have to wait much longer: Piney River Ranch will reopen on June 21st, and we are so excited to enjoy the outdoors with you in our beautiful mountain setting!
This summer, the Ranch will offer a variety of outdoor activities, allowing you to marvel at the breathtaking views of the Gore Range while keeping your distance and adhering to Eagle County’s Covid-19 guidelines. Horseback riding at Piney River Ranch offers some of the most scenic riding trails in the Rocky Mountains, but if you prefer traveling on foot, Piney River Ranch boasts an unforgettable hike at the foot of the magnificent Eagle’s Nest Wilderness. The gentle trail – perfect for the beginner hiker – passes by picturesque Piney Lake and leads to a beautiful, secluded waterfall. Any gear you may have forgotten such as trekking poles, hiking backpacks, and water bottles are all available for purchase at the Ranch!
On sunny days, there is no better view of the Gore Range than from the middle of Piney Lake nestled in a canoe or balancing on a stand-up paddle board. SUP and canoe rentals are available from the Ranch, and include paddles and life vests. We are lucky to have a team of top-flight anglers who are happy to provide an array of guided fishing experiences from shoreline casting to fishing from a canoe or SUP.
After your adventures, join us in the Lodge Restaurant for some of Vail’s finest barbecue fare. We offer a full-service menu including meats freshly smoked on premises, along with side dishes house-made daily. Lunch is served daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
If you find yourself wanting to never leave this stunning mountain destination, Piney River Ranch offers a variety of lodging accommodations for overnight guests, including cabins and Instagram-worthy glamping tents.
While there are still a few more weeks before the Ranch officially opens, prepare for your trip with a visit to our new storefront located in Lionshead Village. The store carries logo’d merchandise, hiking gear, gifts and snacks. Reservations for horseback riding may also be made in-person at the store before heading up Red Sandstone Road.
After a year of Covid-19 restrictions, we are looking forward to getting outside with you and experiencing Vail’s hidden gem, Piney River Ranch. We’ll see you on June 21st!
